Tower Tech I

Responsible for the erection, construction and maintenance of wireless towers and co-location system placement in accordance with all safety and quality guidelines and expectations.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
• Must have the physical ability and willingness to climb towers in excess of 150 feet in all weather conditions year-round
• Constructs, repairs, installs, and maintains remote sites including towers, underground services, conduit, and cable splicing.
• Installs coax lines, connectors, antenna and accessories
• Performs preventative and routine maintenance
• Perform troubleshooting and maintenance on tower equipment as needed
• Troubleshoot and install medium/high intensity tower lighting systems.
• Complete closeout packages specific to each customer
• Complies with OSHA safety guidelines and practical use of these guidelines as well as all other applicable safety laws and policies
• Works cooperatively with team members to complete work and maintain high quality standards

Qualifications/General Requirements
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 2 year industry experience with wireless carrier builds
• First Aid and CPR certification
• OSHA 10 Hour, authorized climber and Competent rescue certification that meets federal standards
• Demonstrated safe driving record
• Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions
• Ability to work independently under limited supervision
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Organized with a strong attention to detail
• Self-starter, team player, results oriented

Physical Requirements
• Great physical condition and stamina.
• Ability to climb heights greater than 500 feet
• Must be able to travel overnight during the week and over weekends as needed.

• Antenna installation of microwave parabolic 1 to 15 foot, VHF, UHF, cellular and FM broadcast antennas
• Transmission line and installation of foam or air dielectric coaxial, hardline and elliptical wave-guides
• Knowledge of knots and rigging as necessary to complete project task safely
• Installs coax lines, connectors, antenna and accessories
• Performs preventative and routine maintenance
• Perform troubleshooting and maintenance on tower equipment as needed
• Troubleshoot and install medium/high intensity tower lighting systems.
• Complete closeout packages specific to each customer
• Complies with OSHA safety guidelines and practical use of these guidelines as well as all other applicable safety laws and policies

• Other duties as assigned

Tower Tech III

Responsible for the erection, construction and maintenance of wireless towers and co-location system placement. Ensure that work is performed in accordance with all safety and quality guidelines and expectations.

Essential Job Duties and responsibilities:
• Climbing and working on communications towers: installing, replacing, and repairing antenna systems equipment performs tower maintenance under close supervision.
• Assembly of monopole, all weld and knock down self-support and guyed towers
• Lead work on tower top, looking after all aspects of work while at the tower top, ensuring that a quality installation has been performed, including rigging, hoisting, landing, fastening, load hopping, etc.
• Antenna installation of microwave parabolic 1’-15’, VHF, UHF, cellular and FM broadcast antennas
• The basic use and care of hand tools and mechanical equipment.
• Knowing the hazards associated with tower climbing, construction equipment, and working on or near energized lines and equipment.
• Analyzing situations accurately and adopt an appropriate course of action.
• Fiber/Sweep testing
• Communicating orally and in writing.
• Following instructions accurately and complete assigned course of action.
• Recognizing safety hazards and performing duties in a safe manner.
• Act as a team lead and mentor to less experienced Tower Technicians.
• Must have the ability to travel extensively within assigned region.
• Assist with closeout requirements

Job Requirements
• Must have High school diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 5 years of industry experience.
• The ability to climb tall structures (200 feet or more) with 50 lb. load.
• Knowledge of knots and tower rigging as necessary to safely complete project tasks.
• Applicant/Employee weight and tools combined may not exceed 280-pound weight limit as specified by the manufacturer of safety equipment.
• Working knowledge of all tools, mechanical equipment, and electro-mechanical equipment.
• Possession of a valid driver license.
• Ability to troubleshoot and correct mechanical or electrical connections
• DC/AC electrical skills
